Stroll Through Salvation Mountain

You can really feel the love when walking these grounds.  We’ve lived in San Diego for 15 years and  we hadn’t seen the amazing work of Leonard Knight.  Leonard was a local resident, who’s mission was to spread God’s love.  I’m not a religious person, but as a big fan of love, art and the “Into the Wild” movie, I decided to pursuad my husband to drive 2.5 hrs towards Imperial County to the Corolado Desert to experience this.  If you ever crave absolute indulgence in art and love messages,  this is definitely a must go.

  1. yep! Loved that movie. The book is amazing too. Walking that area is so surreal.. it’s this little bright and colorful spot in the middle of plain brown desert.

  2. Anza-Borrego is full of amazing stuff. There is one place that has metal sculptures, which could take two full days to explore, or so I have been told. There is another place called Elephant Baths,I believe, that has wonderful mineral baths. It’s late, so I’ll get back to you with the correct info.
